Chris Walker was appointed as Jackson County Clerk on February 1, 2008. On November 4, 2008, she was elected by the voters to serve as Jackson County Clerk. Chris was re-elected as County Clerk on November 2, 2010 for a term of 4 years.
Chris is active in many professional organizations including the Oregon Association of County Clerks (OACC); Oregon delegate 2010-11 to the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials, and Treasurers (IACREOT); Property Records Industry Association (PRIA); National Notary; and Elections Center.
The County Clerk’s department conducts elections and oversees official records including deeds and property recordings, marriage licensing, domestic partnership registry, and other miscellaneous records. The County Clerk serves as the Board of Property Tax Appeals clerk accepting petitions, scheduling hearings and performing general administrative duties as prescribed by law. The County Clerk also performs marriages for the general public upon request.
