Supervisory Authority

The 1995 Oregon Legislature shifted responsibility from the state to the counties for offenders sentenced to 12 months or less prison.
It is the responsibility of the Supervisory Authority to evaluate offenders for release into the community and/or programs. In addition, Supervisory Authority oversees Pretrial Supervision, Morrissey Hearings, and Home Detention.
This unit was established on January 1, 1997.
