Assessment
The Assessor's office administers all laws governing the assessment and appraisal of real and personal property. It maintains the ownership and legal description of these properties. This office receives taxing district budgets and prepares the levy (tax) rates. It handles classification of property for different exemptions allowed by statute.
The office DOES keep a record of all physical appraisals, provides to the public copies of aerial and plat tax maps, assists the public with computer information regarding property ownership, sales information, mobile home ownership and location, and handles property tax exemption as mandated by Oregon statute.
The office DOES NOT provide the public with property boundary lines; determine property zoning; provide easement information, well and septic information; or perform name changes for real property.
