While it is unlikely that a bioterrorist event will occur in Jackson County, we must nonetheless be prepared. Bioterrorist events often are not confined to one area, and an attack that initially occurs in another part of the country can impact us locally. It is the goal of the Jackson County Bioterrorism Team to minimize the impact of a bioterrorist attack in Jackson County. This is achieved through education, training, and working with local health care providers, emergency management, police, fire departments, and other partners to adequately prepare for a bioterrorist event.
