Dan Ross has been Jackson County's assessor since 1989. Prior to his election, Dan was an appraiser for the Assessor's Department for nine years, and worked for private business as an appraiser for one year. He has owned a small woodworking firm in Medford since 1981.
Dan attended high school in Philipsburg, Montana, and graduated from the University of Montana with a bachelors degree. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps for two years and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V.
He is an Oregon State Registered Appraiser, and a member of the Oregon State Association of County Assessors, an organization in which he has held leadership positions.
