America West Launches New Service
A new air carrier is coming to town. Beginning October 1st 2002, America West will begin offering two daily non-stop jet flights between Medford and Phoenix. The airline will be using the efficient Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ-200) aircraft which seats 50 passengers and has a cruising speed of 528 mile per hour. America West offers low business fares and does not require an overnight Saturday stay.
The schedule for the service will include a morning and afternoon departure from Medford at 6:00 a.m. and 2:16 pm arriving in Phoenix at 8:19 am and 4:34 pm. Departures from Phoenix will include 10:33 am and 7:11 pm arriving in Medford at 12:51 pm and 9:29 pm.
America West is based in Phoenix and also hubs in Las Vegas and Columbus, Ohio. The airline code shares with a number of other carriers including Continental, Northwest Airlines, British Airways and Hawaiian Airlines. The addition of this airline will make eastbound connections much easier for travelers.
