|County Commissioner Don Skundrick Holds Ruch Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, November 29
MEDFORD, OREGON (November 21, 2012) With a goal of hearing and discussing the real issues and concerns of rural residents, Jackson County Commissioner Don Skundrick will hold a town hall meeting in the unincorporated community of Ruch on Thursday, November 29. The meeting is open to everyone and will be held at the Ruch Branch Library, 7919 Highway 238, at 6:30 p.m.
Skundrick has held town hall meetings in several cities and communities throughout Jackson County this year. The intent of the meetings is to have an open conversation with members of each unique community. So far this year, he has held town hall meetings in Central Point, White City, Butte Falls, Shady Cove, Gold Hill, Eagle Point, Applegate Valley, Jacksonville, and Talent, with one more meeting, in addition to Ruch, scheduled in Phoenix on December 10.
Its been a genuine pleasure for me to get out into the smaller communities and to have opportunities to receive and share information with residents. These town hall meetings have been a valuable way to hear concerns, discuss topics, and find out what is important to each community, said Skundrick.
Items discussed have included: the potential incorporation of White City, voted on in the November 6th election; public safety; land use issues; Commissioner salaries; libraries; historic preservation; local road conditions; coordination with federal agencies; property values; and taxation.
