Deadline to Submit Property Tax Appeals Is January 3, 2012

The County Clerk's Office is now accepting Board of Property Tax Appeals (BOPTA) petitions to appeal the value of real property land and buildings or manufactured structures; petitions to appeal the value of business personal property or floating property; and petitions to appeal the penalty assessed for the late filing of a real or personal property return.
 
For the current tax year, petitions must be either delivered in person to the County Clerk's Office, e-mailed in PDF format to bopta@jacksoncounty.org or faxed (541-774-6714) to the County Clerk's Office by January 3, 2012. Petitions can also be mailed to the County Clerk's Office with a postmark no later than January 3, 2012.

Appeal forms and instructions are available at the County Clerk's Office, 10 South Oakdale, Room 114, Medford, at the County Assessor's Office, Room 300 or online at http://www.oregon.gov/DOR/PTD/BOPTA.shtml.
