|43rd Annual Children’s Festival in Jacksonville
Calling all kids, ages 1 to 100! You won’t want to miss the 43rd Annual Children’s Festival because this year it will be “Powered by Your Imagination!” Sponsored by the Storytelling Guild of Jackson County and supported by Jackson County Library Services, this innovative three-day event takes place July 12-14 at the Britt Gardens in Jacksonville, and will bring out the creativity of both young and young at heart as it has for generations.
For families planning an economical “staycation,” the Children’s Festival’s $2 entry fee provides hours of entertainment with many imagination-themed activities. Children and their parents may participate in over 30 hands-on art, craft, and science projects. Older children will enjoy candle making, pottery, and woodworking, while younger children will have a chance to make their own puppets, do sand and easel art, and have their faces painted. The whole family can also look forward to child-focused stage performances and yummy food from the Dragon Deli.
The festival runs a total of four general sessions over a three-day period:
Sunday, July 12, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Monday, July 13, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon and 6:00-8:30 p.m.
Tuesday, July 14, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon
It takes hundreds of caring volunteers to keep all these kids smiling! To find out more about the many volunteer opportunities available, go to www.storytellingguild.org.
