Frequent Questions - Public Health Services
Public Health Services

Q: I do not have dental insurance, I do not have a dentist, I do not have the funds to pay for my visit up front and I am in immediate pain...what do I do???

A: 1. If the pain is unbearable and you cannot wait, see your regular doctor or go to the emergency room.
2. If you can wait a few days, try checking the Yellow Pages and friends and family for a dentist that is accepting new patients. Call the dentist, explain your situation and try to get an emergency appointment.
3. Once you have found your dentist, make sure you keep a good relationship with the office by arriving on time for each appointment or calling if you are unable to make it. Make sure you make your payments in a timely manner as well.
4. Once the immediate dental problem has been taken care of, schedule yearly PREVENTATIVE care to avoid any major dental problems in the future.
