Celebrate the second anniversary opening of Jackson County Library Services’ new Phoenix Branch Library on Monday, February 8. The dedication begins with a ribbon cutting of a new Library Footpath at the City Hall Park on the corner of 1st and B Streets at 12:45 p.m. and continues with the Book Lovers’ Quilt dedication from 1-2 p.m. in the Phoenix Branch Library, 510 West 1st Street.
The quilt hanging in the library was created to commemorate the grand opening of the Phoenix Branch Library’s new location. The quilt blocks were handmade by members of the Friends of the Phoenix Branch Library, library patrons, and staff under the supervision of Camille Korsmo, former Phoenix Branch Library supervisor.
Phoenix Elementary School students created the mosaic stepping-stones for the Library Footpath with an Artist in the School grant from the Jackson County Cultural Coalition. The stepping-stone materials were donated by Creative Concrete of Central Point and installed by the City of Phoenix Department of Public Works.
The Friends of the Phoenix Branch Library is hosting this event and light refreshments will be served. For more information, please contact the Phoenix Branch Library at 541-535-7090. |
